Private Music Lessons

As a music instructor, Zubair’s knowledge for the intricacies of different instruments is unparalleled.  His approach to teaching piano, guitar, bass, drums, or voice is grounded in a thorough instruction of music theory, with a tailored approach to the individual student and the instrument of choice. He introduces students to the Alexander method to help them learn to use their bodies properly while playing to avoid injuries and exerting extra tension.

Zubair believes that the key to being a good teacher lies in his ability to relate and communicate with all different kinds of people in order to offer the most personalized and effective lesson plan in any given time frame.  “I like to break music down into its simplest form with my students to make it approachable and accessible.  If an instrument intimidates someone, I want to help him or her become best friends with it.  Music should be fun.  It’s an outlet for socialization and provides the opportunity for experiences that might have seemed at one time impossible.”

Growing up, a learning disability challenged Zubair at school.  One of the key elements that helped him overcome his academic struggle was learning to play instruments.  It taught him discipline, problem solving, and how to overcome and embrace mistakes. “I can honestly speak from personal experience about the educational benefits of learning an instrument.  It will aid in development on multiple levels and instill confidence that a child can carry and apply to every area of life going forward.”
